Hello. I have a 2002 GMC C8500 4x4 and am looking for a decent (and cheap) all terrain tire. What would be some suggestions, if anyone has experience? Its rated at about 37k, 23k rear and 14k front
Thank you
11r22.5 is what is on there now, maybe I can fit a 315x80r22.5
Mud+Snow 22.5 tires?

Are you wanting to run singles? the selection on those 315X80's as far as aggressive is not going to be too good.

Toyo M153 in 315/80r22.5 on the steers and Bridgestone 726’s in 11r22.5’s on the drives is what I just put on my tractor.
Lepton1 Thanks this. -
Sorry I should have clarified.. it is a 4x4 as in 4 wheel drive. Single rear axle, but dually tires. Fronts currently have a Double Coin RBL1 in 11x22.5 on one side, and a dunlop sp431 on the other. Rears are worn and all mixed up.
Should all 6 tires (2 fronts 4 rears) be the same, since they can all be drives?
This is not a tractor, currently has ramps for a bobcat/excavator but that may change. Looking for traction in dirt, mud, snow. Used to be a crane on it, but that doesnt change anything.
Something like what the forestry type rigs would use? -

G741 MSD looks pretty sweet but 800 a pop... ouch -
They need to be the same height, at least within 3%. I have used some pretty aggressive toyos, I forget the number, but just about every major brand makes a heavy lug tire. goodyear 741's do good in both mud and snow/ice.

Look for aggressive tires. On all rims. And you want the same size front and back.
You could do damage if the front doesn't spin at the same ratio as the back.
Do you have lockers so all 4 tires spin or just front and rear interlocks? Power divider or whatever.
How serious will the mud and snow be?
You'll want a tow hook also if you aren't already set up.
I get aggressive on the semi I drive. But I play in fields. I have a tow hook also. And it's always used. No tire in the world will really work for me. I only have 2 wd. Front and rear. I don't have a locker for actual 4wd. Stupid setup. But when the field is frozen and there's snow. The aggressive tires work really good. When the snow melts and becomes mud. The farm tractor pulls me.Last edited: Nov 16, 2019

Rear locker, will put hooks on and maybe even a winch.
I just cant swallow 750 dollars a tire, when there are so many foreign options
