Stupidest thing? Too much to recall. But I've heard whites and blacks using racial slurs towards one another over the radio. I've heard plenty of CB rambos trying to challenge each other to a fight....twice now, over at the Oak Grove Missouri Petco....one guy was singing AC/DC's You shook me all night long trying to qualify for American CB Idol....

I'm not a 18 wheel trucker but I've had a radio since 82 in my Silverado. I have traveled all over our great nation 4-5 weeks a year. It has gotten either so quiet or so much B.S. I don't keep it on very long. Thank God for SiriusXM radio. I will always keep my radio and have a base station but it's not the same on the road anymore. It used to be a good time killer and good conversation but it's not what it once was.
I have to ask an off topic question? When you guys and gals are 50-100 miles from a tire or repair place how do you get help if there's no phone service. Is there a way to change your own tires? Even though they say for me not to change the tires on my motor home I carry a compressor, impact wrench and a big jack.

The mid seventies were the worst! Every idiot on wheels had a radio and was trying to pass themselves of as a "trucker"! Then in the late eighties and early ninties it was "Where's Lucille?" and within 10 miles of any truckstop you'd just hear idiots talking all sorts of nonsense and playin' with their "noise toys" (Remember the tarzan yell? Or the Orgasm?)

There have always been idiots on base stations that attempt to raise hell with drivers. There have always been idiots in trucks tryin' to raise hell with other drivers but in my opinion the true idiot is the driver that responds to these nitwits!

Now it's pretty quiet for the most part. The down side of all the crap in the past seems to be that these days it's hard to strike up a conversation with another driver to pass the time and make the miles go by faster. No one seems to enjoy just rollin' along BSing like we used to...I kinda miss that! I learned some interesting stuff in those long drawn out conversations late at night when it was just two tired guys tryin' their best to keep each other awake as the miles rolled by.

Now it's just these new breed guys driving along weaving from one lane to the other while they try to send and recieve text messages!

How about the guy in Oklahoma City that would continously repeat the "I got my nightgown on, and I got my pretty little red panties on and I'm ready for bed". That guy drove me nuts.
