That's not true. If you medical card expires in NC, you can downgrade your license and have a K stamp put on it. Sort of like putting the CDL asleep. I live in NC and have down this. Got new medical card, went to DMV had K stamp removed. All good.

I live in NC also. I got rear ended and the high point police came to the accident. He came back and said your license is suspended due to med card expired. He didn’t even know the class C is revoked. He even called the DMV officer to confirm. You probably can downgrade but it don’t automatically downgrade.

    Numb Thanks this.

    1. Get a DOT Physical
    2. Get your CDL reinstated.
    No testing should be needed.
Honeslty, I don't think this is an honest question. Every driver should know the answer.

    I submitted fingerprints on Tuesday.

Was told 45 days leeway now before suspension on med card. Supposedly no timeframe after to reinstate. No testing required. Didn't ask if there was a reinstatement fee.

Sometimes the right hand and left hand don't know though.

Med card used to be immediately.

    Fingerprints is still immediately.
