    @Penumbra
    Hate to hear about your injury. Glad to hear the doc gave you minimal stuff. It should be a speedy recovery.

    If they give you a pain shot in muscle etc wait about 40 hours give or take before driving. You want that stuff out of you.

    Sounds like you were taken care of pretty well. Don't forget antibiotics and did you update your tetanus (Lockjaw?)

    There is a lesson in workplace injuries The Mr Big stuff like walmarts etc cannot be bothered. Your dispatcher will need notifying that you are in the ER fixing the damage and will be back rolling once doctor cleared you. The load will have to either be repowered or babysat until you get it delivered after.

    With that said, if that's all they did to you then you lucked out. A metal bolt through the hand or anything really is in a position to really hurt you.

    As far as falls, Its been a long time since I had a proper fall on ice. Made even more risky by one restriction on that new hip joint installation. If you drop a certain way, dislocation and associated immobility is a real danger.

    I hope you took pictures of the area, and filled out an accident report with Walmart’s safety or security department.

    Ended up being 2. Originally we weren’t going to do any, but given the fact I work with my hands, he decided to do a couple so I didn’t continually reopen it as I work.

    it’s not a big wound, it just went really deep. More of a puncture than a cut

    Love the /s...LoL

    I had a friggin tree branch go through my hand and never went to the doctor. Just cleaned it up, put both sides of the nerve real close to each other and went about my day.

    Had a nail come straight through the bottom of my foot one day. I couldn't balance AND remove an 8' 2x4 from the end of my leg, so I had a co-worker pull the darn thing off me and we kept working.

    Had a nail 'squirt' out of a top plate when it found a knot hole. I guess it found my finger more appealing. Nail guns don't give you time to get out of the way, either. With my left hand nailed to the floor, I grabbed my hammer with the right and removed the nail myself. Carried on working until quitting time.

    Not sure what it is with folks these days and having to go to a doctor/ hospital for everything. Tetanus isn't near as prevalent as it once was. Not so many horses in town anymore and all the old horse apples have been paved over.

    D.Tibbitt, Ky Flash and Rideandrepair Thank this.
