Don’t take this the wrong way, I’m not trying to say anything bad just the simple truth....

I personally seen a lot of guys come and go at R.F Steiners in Huntington. Many came with ASE certificated on their shirts and couldn’t put a cob handle on a file. I’ve seen many backyard old timers that had forgot more than the certified guy ever knew.

Same goes with truck drivers / steering wheel holders...

When the big promise of having the best of the best on the road with the new CDL enforcement, my mentors and I had chauffeurs license to drive. I watched many of my mentors retire or just find other work. All because they were afraid, afraid they couldn’t pass the written exam. Having little schooling before jumping in a truck had a big impact on their decisions. They couldn’t read or write that well, but they do miracles with a truck.....

Then came the CDL, I watched as good men with little educational skills were replaced with high school grads and college guys. And a large % of these new guys couldn’t bind a load, or make it across state lines without holding their hand.

We all here have watched you and another man here (forgot his name) share your work and I for one, as many here, have the utmost respect for you both, you do great work!!!

Although I understand the laws you speak of, sometimes the rag can be pretty impressive.

There is good and bad in those with & without papers.....
