Don't know then. Marijuana for depression? Wow. Not directed at you, but the doc that wrote the script. That's special. You're depressed: take a depressant.

Anyway, I wish you luck with the job hunt. Especially in today's market, it might be tough.

    Mickke Thanks this.

Trucking companies will take a pass on you. Was off kilter enough to need some "medication" and was doing weed. They do not want the aggrevation or liability of you driving for them. :biggrin_25511:

With the way the rules-regulations are set in FMCSA, you will probably be required to go through a SAP program before you will even be considered for hire. Here is everything you need to read for regulations set by FMCSA covering drugs and alcohol>> Drug and Alcohol Program

The test is positive, the driver will have to see an Substance Abuse Professional, the driver will have to have a negative return-to-duty test, and have a minimum of six follow-up tests in 12 months.

Carriers are required to ask drivers if they have ever had a positive or refused pre-employment drug test per 49 CFR Part 40.25(j).

Drivers that falsify the form are subject to prosecution.

Drivers that drive without a SAP referal, return-to-duty test, and follow the follow-up tests requirement are subject to prosecution.

Regardless of what DAC indicates the carrier that has the positive drug test is subject to review from the FMCSA and positive drivers are checked against the Driver Information Resource database to determine if they drove after a positive drug test.

    Be safe.

    Spoken like a true.....

We're from the same neck of the woods. And I'm not ashamed to admit, I was a head from hell in my younger days. An ounce or more a week, was the norm.

And I couldn't stop laughing long enough to get depressed.

My wife, who still smokes occasionally. Will do a top to bottom on the house, while depressed from it's effects, imagine that.

Drivers cannot take medication listed as narcotic regardless of the circumstances.

State law or not marijuana is a prohibited narcotic and as such prevents drivers from using it:

Subpart G—Medical review officers and the verification process

    Be safe.

    c) Paragraphs (a) (2), (3), and (4) do not apply to the possession or use of a substance administered to a driver by or under the instructions of a licensed medical practitioner, as defined in §382.107 of this subchapter, who has advised the driver that the substance will not affect the driver’s ability to safely operate a motor vehicle. what do you think this means? if it is pescribed by a doc. 2-3&4 dont apply

Narcotics are listed in Part (a)(1); therefore, a driver can never be prescribed narcotics and operate a CMV:

    Be safe.

any thing a doc.prescribes is a sch.2 or more drug .no doctor can prescribe a shc.1 except in the states that have med. marijuana laws which is still a fed. offense just not state. and the feds just turn a blind eye to it. you need to read what a sch 1 drug is and what sch 2,3,4,5, are. sch1 has no medical use. were the others do
