I wanted to say thanks to everyone for all of the info about Maverick. I've looked towards Mav a few times, but I knew absolutely nothing about them. I had a lot of questions, but after about 10-20 pages into this thread, and reading back several pages on the recent posts, I've decided to give Maverick a shot. I'll keep you updated on what happens, and how my experience goes, but if the info here has been right I think I'll be happy with my decision.

    Again, thanks!

Will let you know tomorrow when I decide. Between tandem, mercer and I have a interview for a local tomorrow, but think I am going with tandem.

Let me know how it goes. I was considering Tandem as well. Their equipment standards/specs look similar to Mavericks.

This is a slightly delayed post, but I was approved by Mav. I'm going to orientation on Sunday. I'm only slightly concerned with the time that I've been out of the truck, but I am pretty certain that I'll remember it when I get in that seat. Here's the only question I have at this point, though. The recruiter mentioned to me that I'll have to do a road test and a pre-trip. The road test I'm not worried about, already been warned about hitting that ramp faster than 25, it's the pre-trip. Are they looking for it to be done word for word as it is expected when you test for your CDL? If so, I need to brush up a little...

I was not fresh out of school when I took mine. If you know what you are doing you will be OK.

That's good to know. I know what I'm doing and what I'm looking for, but if you ask me to repeat word for word what that stupid book said you're gonna get a deer in the headlights look outta me. At least they did say they will give a checklist if you ask for one, which I will. I think just for the hell of it I'm gonna brush up on it anyway. lol
