Lord knows if I can go ge my endorsements (on my own dime), then anyone can!

What is frustrating though is that there's a small UPS station in my town but they're never hiring. The big UPS area here is New Stanton and Irwin. Both are too #### far, but if I get in, I will gladly move.

Keep watching the ups website for openings,...It's the only place that they post them,....Different postings for Parcel and Freight,..

Thanks Walleye! Right now, they have two facilities close to me; Irwin (50-plus miles away, but if it gets me in the door, we can always move closer) and Stowe (which I think is McKees Rocks). I'll have to check, but there is a hub here in Rochester, but I have NEVER seen an opening there. Ever. I may go tomorrow and see if its still open (I have nothing better to do).

Right now the website says "Accepting applications for future openings."

My name is still in the hat, though!

What is the main difference between driving for UPS and UPS Freight, or are there any real differences?

UPS Freight is a LTL freight company,..the trucks are brown and gray....UPS is the little brown trucks the deliver small packages,..UPS also has the feeder trucks,...the doubles that run at night moving packages from center to center,...UPS vans and tractors are all brown,..

There is a long waiting list for most feeder positions at UPS as they are bid by seniority,..the feeder drivers do not leave until they retire or die,.......

Thanks, Walleye. I drove by the hub (which I could walk to from home!) and the center is for the packages. It has a pup trailer in each dock and the brown package trucks.

It seems like there's a glimmer of hope of getting on at UPS Freight. Perhaps...At least my name is in the hat now.

I am hoping I can get on somewhere and at least get my feet wet doing LTL.

UPSF is one of the only ltl's that seems to keep growing,...Well worth the effort to get hired on here,...I think the future is going to be good,..

I just want my foot in the door, whether it be UPS Freight, Con-Way, Central, PJAX....It beats sitting here waiting by the phone....In fact I almost get mad at my wife when I hear the phone ringing and it is her....I tell her I got excited thinking it could be a job calling back.

The terminal in Rochester is off of PA Route 68 in Beaver County. I don't think its a terminal, as it is really small....It has 2 docks for a pup in each and I think there's a dock for the package delivery truck. It is a very small hub, but someone has to be pulling those pups out!

If I got on in Irwin, it would be well worth the move....Oh, and there is a UPS in McKees Rocks/Pittsburgh, right? I can see a hub from PA Route 65....

route 68 that goes from 70 to 79 right, we have a terminal in Cumberland MD, and on 79 there's one in Fairmont WVA, the one in pittsburgh must be small packages, the UPSF terminal for Pittsburgh is in Washington PA, we also have one in Parkersburg WVA thats the only ones i can think of in that area for the freight side
