I don't think Central does the endorsement. That card I have is, well I don't know what it is to be honest. It's certainly not on my license that I have Hazmat. Funny thing now that I think about it. When I moved to Utah in July 2006, I had Hazmat on my CDL. I also had tanker and air brakes. #### Utah and them taking my CDL away from me and making me get another one. I got the Hazmat back in the 80's so they probably would've made me take it over if I really wanted it anyways.

i seen on someone's websight, something about being twic certified. that might be what you all are getting. i think it was swifts. don't know what twic means or what it's all about. but somewhere on google it said something in relation to hazmat.

the new requirements are federal. not just utah. dmv has signs that mention something and the effective date was august 6, 2006. the tsa application says your residing state is supposed to notify all hazmat holders. i never got the notice.

2 years ago not one company cared about it. now, they all want it. that's why i'm getting it back on. i've found two companies out of about 50 i've looked at that didn't require it.

Yeah you will have that with companies now. Everyone is getting there drivers get hazmat to open there freight lanes up. I need to renew my hazmat this month. The test is free in Mn but the tsa cost me about 100 every four years.

TWIC Card be required to get into ports! Tamper-resistant credential containing the worker's biometric (fingerprint template) to allow for a positive link between the card and the individual.

Just another way to get more money outta drivers IMHO!

    But handy to have!
