Heard on Transport Topics, very early this afternoon, they are working on a test for pot(like a breathalizer) that'll detect if you are high or not(ANYONE) if an accident happens. Seeing as smoking it can trace back to 30 days if you do a drug test. Makes sense, since alot of states, as mentioned, have 'legalized it'.

not just us, but everyone has been pretty slow this whole year. It's been a weird year. Busy for 3-4 weeks, slow for a few, busy 1 week, slow 3-4 weeks.....other drivers at other companies have told me it's the same with them as well. I'm wondering if it has to do with the 'trade war' with China?

During training. Trucks are all singles, so trainer booked us hotel rooms every night. Mostly dedicated runs so just out and back home for a night, etc.

Idk the trainer had a company card. In Canada I stayed in a crappy Microtel or something like that, full of crack heads and weed smokers. In Missouri it was a nice place with free breakfast. Maybe comfort suites or something like that. I think they just have to make sure they take the card. I've stayed in whatever worked out on the road close to shut down time. Trainer would usually call in the morning and see if they had availability and truck parking.

I'm not sitting but here in Chicagoland we have a lot of dedicated routes. I'm running as usual. I usually do a 500 mile run each way to MO once a week and maybe NY or NC. Some of friends from orientation class that do system driving say they are running a bit slower lately

HA! Not here, but when I worked at Estes, I was one of the last to stay at a motel like that, until terminal manager switched the hotels. I couldn't get any sleep and thought I'd wake up and daycab was gone! lol This was in Wilson, NC.

I know the NC is the Raeford run. Is the MO the East St. Louis one and the NY is the Cortland? Just curious, I have done those, although it was turned 'system' for me. I delivered with a guy from WV terminal out in MS one morning and he said most of their drivers run out and right back(dedicated). It's pretty neat seeing how each terminal's drivers are 'run'. Every terminal is a little different in it's own unique way.

Yes, I am feeling it too. Last week, only got a 4 day 1500 mile run. Rest is layover. Didn't have a load today. Got a load tomorrow going 600 miles.

Our MO dedicated is Harrisonville, south of Kansas City. We have 4 runs out of Stepan heading there every day. We also do a lot of Jefferson City, but not me personally. And yes, Cortland NY is dedicated for me as is Raeford. I used to go to Raeford every week and the last 2 months it was Cortland. I just did a run to Utah (Cedar City), and Navasota, Texas and came back. I don't think they are dedicated, but I don't really know. Jeff always sends me back, not in the system.

Our terminal manager told me in my interview that he doesn't want system drivers. He wants drivers to be home with their families as much as possible. I'm home every weekend for a minimum of 34 and a night or 2 a week. I've been home since Friday night and load at 2300 at Stepan for Raeford
