    It was not zero there is a peg there just under the zero. No peg above 100.

    That "whirring noise" is a concern. It "usually"signifies a bad oil pump. Get it checked out. If you are above 500K miles. Get it replaced at next PM service. Respect what the letters "PM" stand for. You are lucky that the engine is telling you something. Many others are not that fortunate or deaf by choice.......
