Just remember that g!maps tends to try and put you on roads that your truck can't handle. Like with 12'5" bridges and whatnot

    MIT and Rix43 Thank this.

For what it’s worth, I’ve been using Google Maps as my primary navigation aid for something like 15 years, and it’s only gotten me in a sticky situation a couple of times. As Snakes says, a little common sense goes a long way. I review the suggested routes, I stick to highways whenever possible, I use both satellite view and street view to double check questionable streets and to check out my destinations.

    Rix43 and jtaran06 Thank this.

I use google maps in tandem with my omnitracs navigation and my atlas.

input the address on both gps systems. Compare. Compare those routes to the atlas for restrictions and craziness, you’re all set

    Rix43 Thanks this.

You’re correct about Google Maps. I tried it out for a few days, and it’s impressive.

Our peoplenet has a Navigation supported by Copilot. I went into it and set a few settings to my favor and it’s not bad - to be honest. I also tried the new and improved Google Maps to assist. These devices and of course the old fashioned Rand McNally atlas, is they route I’m going. I’ll keep $400 in my pocket that way :D

Thank you to all of you who helped

How do you get the Omnitracs? I use to have that at Stevens and it was pretty good. But don't you have to have qualcomm?
