If you didn't already do it I'd put a fuse on that wire you installed. One at the battery and one at the alternator. If the wire rubs through on the frame with no fuse, it'll burn. I don't know what fuse rating to use as I don't know the amp load travelling through that wire.

I guess my old alternator didn't need that remote sensor wire but this new one did. I've run this engine for over a year now and never had any trouble with the charging system then all of a sudden it starts overcharging so I changed the alternator and put it back exactly the way it came off and it helped but still overcharged in wet conditions. I never even thought of adding a RS wire but I did and it seems to be fixed. Thank you!

I have the same problem.. international prostar 2015.. I came to ta..replaced one battery. Checked the alternator. They said the alternator is good. After one hour the gauge is going to 15.5.

Help. Is possible the alternator is bad? Even if the technician in the TA says is good?

Remote sense should be a 5A fuse. Under 10' 16 gauge is acceptable but over 10' 14 gauge should be used. This will resolve the alternator overcharging and is critical if you are running expensive deep cycle and AGM batteries. AGM batteries will quickly reach the end of their life if charged much over 14V routinely.
