No, not higher standards...it's exactly what it said, DISCRIMINATION

EXACTLY But, that would mean pissing off 300 million 4 wheelers. Not too god for politicians...Never gonna happen. Let's just ticket those big ugly truckers...Truckers rarely vote anyway, so why not...

Doesn't exist. You have a CDL, so we hold you to a higher standard. Except pay and working hours, of course...

I agree 100%. You drink, you drive, you lose.
But, it should go both ways. If I sit down to drive in my truck, and I have 0.05 blood alcohol, a lot of states can bring a CRIMINAL charge against me. Why aren't 4 wheelers held to a same standard as me? If you run a red light in the car, you can kill someone, same as in the truck, isn't it?

Again, I agree 100%. You drink, you drive, you lose.

    Can you spell "Cash Cow"

    _______________________________________________________________

Now, this is just my $0.02 (or my two cents)....

I got my drivers license in 1985. my CDL in 1986...Ever since, I am held to higher standards.
No seat belt when driving a car..."Well, you've should a known better"...$120 ticket, instead of $35...CDL holder....I am in my car, off duty, for god's sake...

When I'm in my car, off duty from trucking, I am just another 4 wheeler, right???

    WRONG !!!

We are seen as cash cows.

We are held to a higher standard?!?!?!
    Yeah, right !?!?!?!?!?
It pisses me off to no end whenever people say that!!!!

Tell me of another profession that works for 70 hours a week without overtime. Isn't there something in labour law that states over 40 hours a week is overtime????
Tell me of another profession that a cop or a DOT officer can ask what were you doing on your of time, or a home time, cause "something in your log book just doesn't seem right".
    Privacy????
No such thing if you have a CDL.
We are only held to a higher standards when it is about us in traffic...

Otherwise, we are just an unskilled labour...

I know that this is only a wishful thinking, but, I would like to see USA and Canada 7 days after trucks stop running...

Just wishing we all stop for only one week....
