OP need to suck it up.
Less than one year experience.. Fired by Swift, then Quit Western Express.
Might have trouble finding that next job.
Hope Mr. Slavic in Chicago will still hire him. Make sure you kiss his tracksuit clean and take good care of his white volvo for at least a year before moving on. -
I worked for a mega for the first two years, and I only played the sick card once when I really needed to use it. I wasn't hassled.
I think these complainers probably frequently play their cards when its not critical just due to laziness.
During my time in the mega fleet I got phone calls from dispatchers asking if their was really snow in my area, because some other driver in the same city as me had refused to run. Most of the time I got these calls there was no actual snow. -
JonJon78, Dale thompson and FlaSwampRat Thank this.

You folded your hand when you didn't have to.
Have fun job hopper.gentleroger and dwells40 Thank this. -
I hope some day that the title job hopper is finally recognized as a sign of an independent person who refuses to eat the excrement sandwich most companies hand out. Taking the company phallus in the backside with no lube for the sake of a pretty job history is a sign of weakness. Company’s that put a lot of stock in job history are admitting that they know their job sucks just as bad as all the others. This op should be celebrated for being a real man having reasonable expectations and walking away when things start to smell bad also he won’t be complaining about a chapped icehole. Just go to flatbed man, there is alot of pride in flatbed and the people you deal with are much nicer which contributes to your overall view of the industry. Alot of freight is first come first serve and during business hours so u have to bust your ### to get things done but nobody is gonna question u if ur not willing to run steel beams thru a snow storm or on icey roads. System transport is a great company and i think u would do well there.
MGE Dawn, FlaSwampRat and JonJon78 Thank this. -
1st year driver too busy with social media to actually drive the truck.

Doing this in your first year, after recently being fired elsewhere is a huge red flag.
I did put up with alot of excrement that I wouldn't today.
The reality is the washout rate in this industry for the first year is so high; those of you getting triggered by my comment have a high chance of not being around next year.D.Tibbitt, dwells40 and gentleroger Thank this.
