crybaby on your game, friends doing well at dart? who are you kidding"you cant make any money at 85 cents a mile.I guess you could if youre not going to pay your taxes,or you are living in a fantasy world.sorry but theres more to owning a business than just saying i made such and such this week.Theres something called the bottom line.I realize times are tough but theres a point where you are not making money.DO you really think dart would take a load for 85 per mile?

I can tell you right now they wouldnt, there in business to make money.
Work smarter not harder People seem to think just because there running the heck out of me,ive really made the money this week.Since theres so much rampant stupidity going on,IM going to get my own authority and let people lease on to my company and ill go on load board and find you a load.ill pay you 85 ill keep the rest.Who knows ill probably be able to laugh all the way to the bank.

You call this guy a ratchethead. But you got 28 years experience and think that .85-.90cpm is good money. Alot of companies need guys like you to make them money and watch you clowns fold up in the midst and then only to have more jump on the band wagon.

So True! It seems that none of these people (L/P drivers) have ever looked at a load board or gone on line and looked at what the shippers pay! .85cpm out of a $2.00 load? Who do you think made the better deal! All that for pushing a little paper and paying some of your costs! Do a little work and find out how much your insurance, tags and other costs are and figure out the miles at that piddling .85 plus half of the FSC and see where you got bent! 1-2 loads a month to pay all of those expenses that these fleece companies are "helping" you with! ROFLMAO!:biggrin_2554:

What you guys seem to be forgetting is that in ANY business CASH IS KING.
These brokers that get paid $2.00 a mile are not getting paid for at least 30-45 days. During that time they are the ones paying the drivers because they have the cash.
If you have the cash, broker your own load and you to will get $2.00 a mile, in 30 -45 days. But how many drivers expect to be paid for what they did at the end of every week, if not within hours or delivering?

A majority of guys need to get paid right away. A majority of these guys don't need to own or lease a truck because they have no business ethics or money. Half of them can't afford to go home or make their truck payment because of these low rates. So if you think these low rates are so great then you start running for free. Then again it does say you are a wannabe so I don't take it that you have to much knowledge......

Slow down wireman! Read my post and try to comprehend it.
I never said that those rates were great. I only commented on people complaining about the brokers taking $2.00 a mile and paying the drivers only .80 a mile.
I may be a wannabe but I am older and wiser than you. Plus, I own my own truck and trailer and I don't make payments to the bank on it. I drive it just because I can.
