I wouldn't go to that "Elwood" for nothing.

I Drove by that insanity on 53 a few years back....I Got out of intermodalbefore Elwood even woke up.

See what happens when you poke the bear? Joliet used to be "Joliet" Fairly quiet and no cops waiting to bust the 500 trucks going into a rail yard.

I feel bad for you guys.......IF I ever went back to containers- With my seniority- It would be either NS Landers everyday at 4am for a lift on to customer- Or Conrail 47th-51st 63rd- maybe Santa Fe Corwith or CNW Wood street for an early AM pickup to a local customer- Done by 2pm everyday.

And all empties would terminate inside the City- At worst Harvey-Or Bedford Park

Yeah they have been fairly straightforward. Empty out to green bay and loaded back. The little green ex Publix daycabs are a bit small and underpowered for this work though. You have to work them within an inchbo
inch of their life to get moving and then they get pushed around alot with their short (less than 200inch) wheelbase.

I think so. I hear a lot is in the works. The 4 new quad axle chassis are a good sign

Yup paper and plastic in various forms. Sometimes its just big rolls of paper. I wasn't too keen on the quad axle chassis at first, but after pulling one load on a standard chassis and then on quad the next day, i appreciate their stability. The truck seems to pull better too when pulling the quad.
