What if it Snows?

Totally agree with you... the only really effective safety system I know is a safe driver...
But companies are using more and more technologies they believe will improve safety... I think it's more of a matter of litigation... I mean, insurance companies say that in case of an accident, it might be helpful for the company if they have all these systems installed....
I still think that nothing is better than a safe driver...

 

That's what I would like to drive next... but I will go back to being a company driver pulling dry vans and I am finding more and more difficult to find companies with manual shift and none of those "safety systems" installed....

 

Alas this is like what the railroads went through in the 1860's for what is standard today in the way of couplers and airbrakes. Companies may not adopt this until the government or insurance companies say it is to become mandatory.

 

Well, looks kinda cool, but I find it easier to not put myself in those situations in the first place.

The one thing I want to know about that anti jack knife device? I know it self clears, yet what will the trailer do initially before it clears when backing up. Granted it will probably help new drivers from losing sight of the end of the trailer.

Many companies already use many safety systems in their newer trucks... and more will keep doing the same...
