These things circled in red, are they just a restrictor or something? They originally had seals around them that fit into the spacer plate. Just curious as to what they do and if I need to replace them?

My boy got out of the truck and wrenched for a few years. Every time he changed jobs he'd ask "Dad what do I do". Well there's a paid for truck in your driveway and you know what you can make in a truck. Look at your grandfather who worked on heavy equipment first half of his life and see how busted up he is.
He went thru several jobs and ran a mobile service. He finally got back in the truck. Pretty easy to make in a day or two in the truck that you make wrenching a week. He's doing good now. The time he spent wrenching was a good learning lesson and made him a better wrench.
Just food for thought. You have to do what's right for you and your the only one that can decide that.
I'm sure you'll excell at whatever you decide...your work ethic won't allow anything else.
Wish you the best!!!!1951 ford, cke, Westbound23 and 26 others Thank this. -
