I know it's not the recommended way. I check off the deck so I'm not compounding tolerance. I check all the liners with a feeler guage to the deck then measure the height to the deck. If I had replaced the liners I would use the hold down bolts.
Not saying it's correct just the way I do it. Old machisist habits. I'll run the mic around the new spacer plate.1951 ford, peterbilt_2005, Wheeljack and 14 others Thank this. -
At Newborn? Best place around west of Atlanta. If you’re stepping East, watch out for that scale on 20...that’s their rookie training facility.1951 ford, sawmill, whoopNride and 13 others Thank this.

Lol, hey if it does what you need and you make money. Who cares. You could add a little power, but horsepower on a single axle reduces tire life big time.1951 ford, Al. Roper, Westbound23 and 11 others Thank this. -
May the hometown of my grandfather protect your plastic front end!1951 ford, whoopNride, Al. Roper and 16 others Thank this.

You 100% right. Figure if I make fun of myself, it let's y'all know I don't mind being razzed a little here or there..
In actuality, I'm quite fond of her. The paint is just embarrassing though..
It's honestly been a great little engine. Other than this cam, it just runs, & runs. I'm also only tagged for 54,999lbs. Very rarely do I even need to drop out of O.D. in the hills. My IFTA's were consistently 8.5-9.2 mpg. It dropped to 7.76 last quarter, no oil consumption. That's the whole reason we even found the scoring on the cam, during the overhead to try & fix the mpg loss. Alot of today's trucks can barely make mileage like that I'd bet..
Drive tire wear, I'd bet it be bad with big horses. I've seen lots of rubber coming off already when I top a big hill as is. Like black sawdust if you run your hand over the tire..1951 ford, sawmill, jamespmack and 13 others Thank this. -
@OLDSKOOLERnWV and @TripleSix, I couldn't even imagine what ya'll have been through.
It makes me think though. You never know what another person might be dealing with, or what they've had to battle, or what grief may have befallen them.
I met my wife online. We've been married 19 years. If anything were to happen to her, I'm not sure I could function.1951 ford, sawmill, whoopNride and 25 others Thank this.
