It's how we can deliver to half the country in 2 days or less. Chicago to Tampa, Harrisburg to Dallas, etc.
UPSF doesn't have daytime runs?Digman943, McUzi, Cardfan89 and 1 other person Thank this. -

Oh really ? There’s no way I would stay if there wasn’t a possibility of going days eventually, but for me I just think the wait is gonna be to long. I don’t want to waste 5 to 7 more years of my life running nights. We had a couple of guys from our yard have to go on nights now after running days for 3 years because they been cutting runs for the Winter. I’m thinkin wow this is what I gotta look forward to ? LolMcUzi, Digman943 and FlaSwampRat Thank this.

Another week in the books. Mileage and overall gross was a bit lighter due to fewer turns, but it's still in line with what I usually expect to make. The 30 min of delay was from scaling and sliding the tandems on a rail chassis, multiple times, trying to make it legal.
I found out definitively that we will not be taking any Ground runs, which is pretty disappointing since there is a massive hub less than a mile up the road and we could easily afford to give up a few drivers to do it. For whatever reason, our center manager either declines to participate or just isn't offered the chance to help.
Just a short 3 day week left before Thanksgiving and then new bid starts next week. My winter bid should be either about the same or slightly worse than what I have now. I won't really know until I start running it.Attached Files:

What aspect of your bid would be worse? Later lane sequence?

A bit of a junk week. Only ran my bid once, the other few days bumped down to a dock bid shuttle run to hostle for a few hours, and didn't feel the greatest on Friday.
Also, just accepted my offer with the cryo company, so that process will begin starting Monday, maybe 3 weeks of the checks for FXF in the future. This week is shaping up to be pretty decent so far though...Attached Files:

Congratulations on the new job. I really hope it gives you what you have been looking for. It sounds like you are ready for a change.

Thanks! I figure if HR can get my information started this morning/early afternoon, I can get my whiz quiz and physical done before I need to go to sleep before work today. Add some time for the drug screen to come back, background run etc and I think I should be able to give my two weeks notice by next Friday.
I tell ya, that whole "you've never been to my karate" thing that my son pulled on me has been the biggest catalyst in this. Not to mention, I see significant room for professional growth at this new company.Cardfan89, jmz, Bob Dobalina and 1 other person Thank this.
