Not fond of the K-cup... those cups are expensive compared to just a bag of coffee especially if you consume a few cups every day... and all those plastic cups going into the trash?

I really like my AreoPress... just heat up water in my microwave, soak the coffee grounds and press... I hand grind my coffee beans but that’s totally personal preference... and trash is just the actual coffee grounds and a little round paper filter which will decompose vs this plastic cups.

    just my two cents worth.

    cheers

I use the ultra basic 12c mr coffee. I tried one with a timer on it and it didn't last one pot. The only trash I have is a single unbleached filter and, every 2 pots, an empty distilled water jug.

well looks like I've decided to try and go with the aeropress....looks like it makes a great cup of coffee and easy to clean, and it's durable...I'm tired of going through k-cup machines and wondering when they will break

    MidWest_MacDaddy and tarmadilo Thank this.

I got the cheap $20 from Walmart and it's bounced all over my truck in the oilfield. Do you leave the cups in after you make coffee? That could be your problem

Just get a cheap hot plate and a sauce pan. Just boil some water, throw in some coffee, and filter it through paper towel in a coffee mug when it's done.

Takes less space and is easy to clean. ;)
