northeast rates for power only opinion

I have a $650 minimum rate. It is not worth doing the paperwork for anything less.

Short haul rates should be a daily minimum rate because most of those loads would tie a truck up for a full day with even the $650 minimum is not a very good income for a days use of a truck and driver.

The Northeast stinks for PO rates and most of us make the good money coming into the Northeast. I would rather bobtail to greener pastures that feed the cheap freight brokers with most rates of Northeastern inbound PO loads are priced as roundtrip. Florida is the same way.

 

You are so correct Sir...If i no for a fact that my truck is not going to be tied up for a ''whole day'' then i may move a bit on the price...For the most part i am 650.00 minimum or i will stay home...

I do my NY Run twice a month..It is 300 miles and pays between 2000.00-2500.00 with 500.00 100% to me for NY ARB.

 

what rate would you guys ask for to run a load from Pittston PA to Brentwood NY 45k dry van

 

i wouldnt touch any of them for less then $500 and that if you can do 2 or 3 of them a day the short sub 100 miles. if you can only do one a day 1000 maybe a little less if you live in the area and it doesnt take you a full shift to complete it

you know it $215 in tolls right ? i think it is $105 gw bridge and $55 i think each way on 495 throgs neck bridge...

 

Its 189 miles power only, how much more do you think you could get?

in my opinion power only loads help the shipper and receiver more then the truck. they can load and unload in their non peak time and save on detention rate of trucks. trailer are typically only valued at $25-$50 depending on the type of trailer with dry van being hte cheapest. we do newark nj load 200 miles zero tolls on our reefer trailer for $1300 ...
