McGee Company - AutoSock - Alternative Traction Device for Snow
Has anyone had experience with them? I've heard they wear out kinda fast But the convince is nice. If they work well I'd be fine with buying new sets every winter.
Autosocks?

A thread that they didn't last quarter of a mile either. Throwing iron the only way to go.

haul and toss iron.
When the tough gets going truckers throw iron. Sissies put on socks.Tx Countryboy Thanks this. -
Going to reality check that a bit...... with my perspective.
I carried both. Socks were to get out of iced over truck stops and parking lots if the roads were clear to run bare footed. Fast and easy if all you needed was a little extra traction.
Chains were used if it was appropriate in order to get down the road to a safe spot to park. -
I carry the sissy-socks. Never used them. That's one good thing about the mid West - pretty flat.

I’ve always’s tan 9mm chains, now that I drive slower I buy 7mm and can throw those babies with 1 hand blind folded.
Stick to chains if you want ultimate traction.
