Battery charger, heated blanket and a 750/1500 watt heater. Or my microwave. Heated blanket is usually good enough till the alarm goes off then I kick on the heater till I hit snooze. No block heater till really cold then it’s cold enough I just idle. I’ve gone as long as 11 hours on a fill up and was still running on the 1.18 gallon tank.

I believe the closed racks are worth it.

Ive ran with open racks in the past and found that the weather and road dirt etc has a impact on everything hung on that open rack.

I also shudder to think that there was nothing locked on that rack in them days considering how easily someone would availed themselves of all that chain and tools.

There is another consideration. Having everything inside and doors shut and locked is a positive protection for you and your tractor. One night a pair of chain got loose and hung on against my shaft between the frame dragging on the pavement. People got me to stop before it wrapped. They probably saved my life and someone else's that night.

So thats my experience, closed rack 1 open racks 0

Best 3200 I ever spent, installed..
No doors to deal with being in the way.
Great quality and plenty of room.
    Iconic Metalgear makes great products.
The older straps I leave out on the trailer stay nasty, everything else stays nice and clean.

I used to get 2 steel tarps inside a 3 door Merritt box along with chains, binders, straps and ratchets. (even in winter)

I fold both sides to middle and then fold both sides in again. So you're going to be about 2 feet tall standing up. Roll it as tight as you can and it'll be about 12" in diameter. I'd get 2 of them SxS in one door, hanging binders above them.

I'm not sure, but it looks like you might not have enough binders :dontknow:

I suppose it depends on what kind of gear you need to stow.

2" ratchets, clevice shackles, corner protectors, winch bars, bungees, even tarps can fit inside and enclosed rack.

If you have someplace else for that and only need to stow chains, binders and coil racks then an open rack would be fine.

I think they are size #7 rubber bands. Maybe #107 ?
Same like the ones you buy at the truck stop but 1 / 10 the price. May try a inter tube cut up next time? These bands been working for a couple years already though?
