Do you work for JCT or stevens? I've worked for both and been with JCT since 05. The lawsuit was around mid 06. When a bunch of Stevens drivers started showing up at JCT. The reason I know is cuz a buddy of mine was there when it happened. If you are right name a stevens driver that is an ex JCT driver.

Well guys, I have read every post I can find about JCT. And am proud to say I will be part of the team/family october 19th. I wish sooner but that's fine. I have followed many of you from your start to your quick endings, the one person whom lost his mother (grizzly man I believe, sorry on my blackberry and can't look back) I'm so sorry for your loss as I too have lost both of my parents. And all the others as well I feel as if I know some of you guys already and look forward to buying you a cup of coffee... For the last year and 1/2 I have pulled a reefer between cali and texas and know all about running hard. I have also ran my own business on the side so I know how to pinch a nickel as well. I just want to thank you all for your info and input. I too like so many others have gotten nervice but will make the best of the situation even if it doesn't go just as I hope. Anyway, this is my intro and hope to be a part of the team very soon.

I as well took the last 3 days... before i get in the sleeper... and read every post on here.... I am setup for orientation on Oct 12th.... I am talking to Holly weekly about getting in sooner... Its funny how she knows my voice over the phone already. I am currently a lease driver for the three dummys...... Lisa/FFE/American Eagle.... I wont say which one on here... but after many many hours of research I have found this to be the best Lease Purchase Plan out there... I am just happy I have a date set to get into a better company as I am getting nickled and dimed to death here.... I am one that loves to run many many miles... So I know i will fit in well here. also with over a year of lease purchase experience that will help me as well. But, once again I look forward to seeing all of you guys... Iam in Harrisburg, PA tonite. deliver in the morning then off to who knows where......

Little Princess Here! Please bare with me as I catch up (hates job Fairs) I did say in context ^.^ (prays someone actually reads her resume before file 13) This is long....

Steven/s Trucking/Transportation...another Transportation company transporting freight of general commodities, and goods.

From what I have been "hearing" lately, Steven Trucking is in alot of trouble, lots more than the economy. How much of this is "Trimming the Fat" and how much is actual "abuse" I wouldn't know. While I do not condone laying on the frosting thick enough to die of sugar shock, knowing that a company has some bad office employees, and the company is made of aware of it, with ample opportunity to "drop the rotten apples", is something that benefits everyone. Swift has been in alot of serious legal situations, from illegal aliens working at the factories, to unprovoked driver abuse in the workplace, to the last investigation which made the news about the CDL schools. The "rumor", which I still cann't find anything out on, is that Steven is laying off alot of it's good drivers, keeping the rotten apples, and advertising for more students. FFE and Werner were in deep kimchee in Dallas, over the new inland port the cty and city wanted to build, then suddenly started dropping drivers like sprayed flies from a corpse! A few drivers were almost finished or just starting out in FFE's lease purchase, only to wind up losing everything, including what little personal effects the person owned. Werner on the other hand, when one disreguards the drivers who have been there for 9-10 yrs, multiple times, has begun to allow safety to overstep it's authority, including things which I cann't repeat here, due to the fact, that there was something said, that resulted in a situation (firsthand) that is still unresolved pertaining to all parties involved. :biggrin_2552:

I agree. On an app, you have to quote everything, including the number of liscenses you have had within a certain time period, tickets, incidents, accidents, anything that can be found on an up to date DMR report. Unfortunately! My DMR is accurate, my DAC on the other hand, reads like my employment solicitation for employments job search list!!!! Swift reports, not employment, but for insurance purposes, and experience purposes, IF you work on a truck, student or not, with a lease to pull company. FFE, on the other hand, still has not made up it's mind if I was employed with FFE, American Eagle, and Lisa Motor Lines at the same time, and during the time I worked for Werner!!!! American Eagle Safety Department still hasnt had the courtesy to even be snippy with a return call. I cann't tell a prospective employer that FFE reported all it's sub or sister companies on my DAC for insurance purposes, or for consent to pull trailers, even if I did not pull a non FFE trailer, when the company doesn't have the courtesy to put it on DAC or even put it in an email, or explain on the phone.

I do have a bad habit, of when an employer askes for 10yrs driving experience, of listing everything I did, including gaps in employment, going back to 1987, (i'm in the ARMY now) then sending a follow up email, within 3 days containing my resume, and asking if my application has been recieved via the electronic submission site. Bad Habit, Good Job Search Skills. TMI? Probably. The app did ask ^.^

I met "Wanderer", not "The Wanderer" (heard over the CB, he died in 1977, went over a cliff, (hopes she has her cb handles right, been so long, could have flipped it)) :biggrin_2553: around December of 06. He said that he heard that JCT had bought out some driver contracts from Stevens because the drivers would be able to make more, rather than going bankrupt, and that Stevens sued claiming driver theft. He wasn't too sure of what was actually happening, since he had not been there long with the company his-self (at least that is what he told me), We did speak about JCT's CDL school, (he had a company newsletter) and later, I tried to follow up on the conversation with him, and the company to see what the school was actually about, cost/lodgings, ect. Is where the nasty attitudes surfaced.

    (directed at one not quoted)
I can state with absolute certainty, no company I have worked for, can say I have EVER complained about the work, (might have fitched about fuel (if I add this much, it won't touch my drive fuel), time (who knew slowing down going through little towns could suck up an hour???:biggrin_2555: ) or blamed pointlessly the company, When I'm at fault, I admit it, When your at fault (w4's r not SAFETY ISSUES!) I will hold my ground, and irreguardless, the situation (depending on legality of situation) will be made public, outside the realm of office/driver/employee comforts. I do not fabricate fact, I back up what I state in situations like that, I don't go looking for them nor instigate them either. I have spoken up about employees, including Naming Names, Dates, Situations, ect. I have even had some wonderful conversations with mechanics, and business associates, CEO's ect. Sometimes it is nice to shake cobwebs out of the brain, and a good conversation is well worth taking the time for. It will always bring a smile later down the road ^.^ Even if one cannot remember the reason the conversation started at all. (those are simply THE best ones)

Good Luck Jarbo! Good luck to the rest of you heading out. Stay safe, and enjoy the open road.

    Little Princess Out!

WOW, who ever thought when I started this thread, that the crap would get this deep. I thought this was the place to dicuss your favorite company. I really welcome honest debate, but some of this stuff has really gotten viscious. I don't care who runs the company, the father, sons, or the supposedly girlfriend.(just another rumor)As long as the miles keep comming and my settlement gets deposited every week, I'm happy. My truck has 560,000 miles on it now and I am expecting some breakdowns to start. I have prepared for it. For the most part I won't have to use my escrow account for repairs, which means I can get my truck fixed where I want to. I have not found any real problems with JCT.

Good luck to you too excelguy. Maybe we can both go early, but keep us all updated.

Right now I run 3500 - 4000 miles a week. (When its not slow) we went from 75mph to 65mph so I already am used to the right lane, I had my left door welded shut a long time ago. So it seems the only issue that I'm going to have is the one LMB mentioned about the cold winters, and hot summers, I guess I'll adjust. : )

Had to hit the brakes today. Delivered this morn, WCC Winter Haven. No pre plan. Dispatch said no freight till in the morning. So me and the miss took a 24, and got a suite at the Hampton here in Lake Wales. Sittin by the pool with a nice cold ice tea. Life is grand. Wanted to go to the beach, but mama would have put the blinders on me. Guess I gotta behave myself. Y'all have a great day.

Curious your right DOT does require the complete background check including any gaps in employment.

Little Princess it was hard reading your entire post you seem to be bouncing all over the place. JCT has the right to change their requirements at anytime without notification of changing advertising, their not selling a product or charging people to come to work here. Honestly if you rambled to them as you did here I can understand why they said flat out no, no company wants to hire anyone they believe their going to have problems with and if you applied back in 2006 then that will still show up.

My son wants o come here but he left trucking last November and has had 1 part time and 1 full time job since then and he has to wait until November to only have 2 jobs in the last year, so they told him no. But you don't see us contacting the state of Florida because they won't hire him.
