Not gonna move on with a engine revving to 2500 or say 4500 downgrade on say... Cabbage? (I-84 old oregon trail Oregon) you essentially have a runaway.
Ive been thinking on this eco mode today. It indicates to me a tractor that is badly configured and wont pull, wont jacobs, wont do anything but try to save a drop of fuel. Leaving you standing on the fuel pedal waiting for something to move.
Im surprised you havent left already. And now you want to stay and endure this POS tractor? Come on now... I am not trying to be difficult. Ive had trucks in the past that emphasized eco. kemosabi49 Told you straight...
Back about 1995 the company gave me a tractor and smiled at me handing me the keys. Ok, fine Im a big boy whatever they got don't hurt me none. Go to Hanover and fill trailer with Pretzels Snyder over the weekend going mid south.
That tractor had a HUGE gauge on the far left where the RPM is deliberately bright colors garish lights loud buzzer and in your FACE when you so much as put a foot on your fuel pedal. The more you added, the worse it spun and acted up. I finally lost temper and floored her. Now this is a 2300 RPM red line engine she never got that high the fuel nanny cut me off at 1750.
I was about half a mile from the yard. Turned around and went back told them where they can stick that loud buzz box and see you monday since I have a whole weekend to consider the value of employment there.
The following monday they handed me a tractor. 505 detriot and all that absolutely all out power fuel not even a thought.
I don't know what they were thinking when they handed me that monster. It defined that year for me.

Got stuck in about three inches of snow with mine. This is my second winter driving it. I'm not impressed.
foggy Thanks this. -
It really doesn't start working well till 1800 rpm. Sounds strange right? It will give you a warning on the dash if you go over 2500 rpm.
It wants to downshift, even skipping gears, to bring up the engine rpm when in desent mode. But it won't always get it right.Odin's Rabid Dog and truckdriver31 Thank this. -
How's it considered overspeeding and how would it void a warranty if that happens to be how they designed it to operate?

Most every truck I have driven has a low-med-high switch for aggressive braking. You sure yours doesn't?

I drive a '20 Cascadia automatic, and i've just spent the past week driving every day in the snow, criss-crossing I-80/Donner (and other alt routes when Donner was closed) with and without chains. I've had zero issues. Zero as is none.
We had a saying when I was in the Army...you gotta be smarter than the equipment you're operating.Odin's Rabid Dog, truckguy391, homeskillet and 7 others Thank this. -
