I have a 2011 peterbilt 386 with a cummins isx15 cm2250 in it. I just had it inframed last year around august 2018. Last month it was discovered the entire overhead was loose, a rocker bridge was broken, cam was ate up, rollers damaged, rods and mains damaged from metal in the oil, and cam gear and tone ring damaged. Replaced the cam, cam gear and tone ring, rod and mains, oil cooler, all rockers and rollers, valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket. The truck is leaking alot of oil from the passenger side. It appears to be coming from one of the bolts from the water thermostat housing. I have to add oil every few hrs of driving. Its all over everything. Truck isnt overheating any but I am still adding coolant to the tank. Any ideas where to start? The current shop last month did compression test and it held compression. They did say #3 was a little week but still in spec.

If its from the thermostat area Im guessing its from the oil cooler circuit as it has a thermostat as well. And since you’re having to add coolant as well Im guessing the thermostat housing has come loose.
truckdriver31 Thanks this. -
They didnt take the coolant thermostat housing off at all so I dont understand how it would just come loose
