1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. :yes2557:have over 3 yrs. of driving experience on time and no, DOT reportable mistake, am being told by a lot of the big companies that i have had to many job to work for them, but my answer to that is , i have excellent driving skills , because of the jobs i have had. please send info. on where a driver can get a job at .last job, i was let me go because i took tractor home , slip seating . it make me angry , that a company would let you pickup/ and del. freight from one states to another, and if you use the truck to go by home , you are fired for this. what is wrong with them? am in the arkansas area, willing to relocate .

You took the tractor home but then mention slip seating, um hello. Being a job hopper indicates you will not stick around at a company very long. If you were a company would you take a chance on someone such as yourself?

yes i would hire someone like me , why would they hire me to deliver their freight , to other states , day or night , safely and on time ,and would not let me take the truck less than thirty min. to take care of my personnal business.most companies do not have slip seating. most companies allow there drivers to take home there truck. from what i understand slip seating is, when you go on dayoff , clean out your truck

Slip seating from what I understand is a program such as Roehl offers where you work 2 weeks and have a week off where someone else is using the truck.

if that is so, why would the company fire me for that , if they want another driver to have the truck , why did they not say that . or give me a warning? it was never explain to me , what was expect of me so i pickup there freight and del. day and night to other states, they warned us about other rules within the company, concerning logs, tickets and other rules.

Hi all, I looking for a good place to start my new career. I will be out of school in less than two weeks and want to start with a company to gain experience with the goal of going semi/local in about 12-15 months. I paid for my training so I owe no company any driving time. I have a good work record, a good driving record, and a clean criminal background. Some of the companies that I have ruled out because of what others have said on the posts are: JB Hunt, CR England and Swift. Home time will always be an issue, but as long as I'm gone no longer than 2 wks at I time I should be fine. Please be honest as I am trying to get off on the right foot in my new career and do not want to be labeled as a job-hopper this early.

hey good luck finding a job, i think you will find a local job befor you will a otr at this point in time. most big companies are on a hiring freeze especialy to recent grads, and even to esperienced drivers in certain areas. I would try for local when you graduate. good luck

i do not want to work for a company with slip seating , why would i want to share a truck with someone ? and have to clean it every few days after someone else use's, or my own use , and be charged a fee , if i did not leave the truck clean. seeing how that is what that company was about , i am glad that i no longer work for them .
