cake walk, man, cake walk! just split from low to high each gear, and back for next gear. truck is super underpowered, so keep that in mind as well. As others have mentioned, do not pull out in front of anyone, and if you are making a left turn, get into the left lane and straight before moving to the right lane, or vice versa if making right hand turn. don't hop any curbs, and remember that your evaluator is ALWAYS right! If he says you did something, just agree with him. Key is getting out of orientation. But...don't let them intimidate you! They are all there to see you succeed as well.
During the 90 degree back up, don't run into their brick retaining wall. (supposed to represent a dock). stay between the barrels, but don't touch the wall. you can pull forward 100 times if you want to, just don't hit a barrel or the wall! Get out and look if you think you may be too close.

Ok so today gave me one more reason to be happy to get out of my current company... I was here in NJ loading.... when low and behold... dispatch failed to tell me there i another pickup tomorrow morning in philly... and they want this load in dixon california by 6am friday..... i got no problem running hard but i dont think i will be able to make it till in the afternoon... and they dont want to give any xpay for doing all this... i personally think its BS!!!!

I was pretty anxious, and yet had some reservatios at the same time. I was pretty nervous about leaving a job that averaged 3200 miles per week constantly. The company was going to the toilet, though. Miles were always going to be there, but the owner had signed an exclusive contract with ONE company, and had to ask permission for virtually everything they wanted to do. They cut out all safety bonuses, and were on the verge of cutting off their 800 phone number! They blamed the economy, but were dumping a ton of cash into their racing hobby!
I also had the pleasure of spending 8 days as the guest of the Quebec provisional police due to them neglecting to pay their international registration for the year 2009. They figured it was worth the chance of not getting caught at a scale house or inspection station, and keeping the money. If they got caught, which is where I came in!, they would pay the fine and renew it at that time.
I was escorted to an impound lot, and told to contact them when it was all straightened out, and they would come and let me out. No one was concerned about it except me, and it took 8 days to get it corrected. Talk about losing money! That was the proverbial straw that broke the camels back. That is when I applied with JCT, and have not regretted it for a second since. A very weel run company that takes care of their own.
This is why it is so hard for me to read about someone passing bad info about the company. It was not my right to be hired by JCT, it was my priveledge.RandolfB Thanks this. -
i agree with that totally herkyboy.... it is or should i say will be a privilege to work there.. they dont have to hire anyone... only those they CHOOSE to hire.

I am 22 and I currently reside in Viera FL. I go get my permit tomorrow. I already have my air brakes and combination endorsements. I will attending school in December but my friend is teaching me in the meantime.
