On that truck they are standard axles. He just dumps air when turning. New York requires steerable pushers on newer trucks I don't know the cutoff date. I don't like steerable for long runs. Had one once a stabilizer failed and dang near steered me off the road ! For regional running steerable is the way to go.

I had the same thing happen on the stabilizer, but I like them other than that. They lift automatically when in reverse which is good for old brain fart guys like me.

When I ran my steerable, Colorado made me backup on their Lamar scales once. Everytime I hit reverse the axles would lift. The fool tried to get me over on axle weight. I had to explain what was going on. He wasn't getting it until I blew up at him after trying to explain it 6 or 7 times. LOL

Ha, I could see that happening. Wyoming likes to pull me on the 3 platform scale, weigh, then pull up just enough to get the weight of the tag so as to make sure I am not over on the drives. I have learned to go VERY slow and stop immediately when they flash the red light again. Otherwise I just as well go round and start over!.
