Hey guys,
When driving two different trucks on the same day ( aprox. 4 hrs each trip time), a driver fills two different log sheets with daily inspection at the bottom of each sheet. Does the driver has to draw the graph on both sheets or one graph (incl both trips) is good?
Also, if a driver was on duty for 15 and a half hours and he could differ 2 hours to next day. How should an operator handle the 30 min violation (other than verbal communication)?
Thanks

Wrong, only use one log sheet. Write down both vehicle numbers, use a slash to indicate first or second vehicle.
You are now in violation of running with two logs . Or boss needs to give you separate inspection forms.
Oops, I see now. Yes only graph on one sheet. Perhaps rip off the bottom half of sheet for the other trucks inspection.Nothereoften, Canadianhauler21, gentleroger and 5 others Thank this. -
Oh, Thanks uncleal13.

I don't think you can log ''on duty'' more than 14 hrs but you are allowed 16 hrs to do it. Maybe I'm reading it wrong.

There is an exception, 2 hours can be differed to next day assuming the conditions are met. I

Because of the 'day' concept (the period of 24 hours covered by your log sheet, usually midnight til midnight) and the fact that 8 hours off duty lets you start a new shift it's possible to exceed 13 driving/14 on duty in a single 'day' while not exceeding 13 driving/14 on duty in a single shift.
If you finish your day at 2 am, take 8 hours off and start again at 10 am you have a new shift available but have already used 2 hours of your 'day' by going past midnight. That is where the deferral comes in.
The point being that the deferral does not change the shift limits but will allow you to log more than 14 hours on duty in a single 'day' that includes parts of two separate shifts.Moorti_i and REALITY098765 Thank this. -
Verhicle numbers go into one line on the log sheet. One page only from that morning after midnight.
The only time you carry previous logs is when you worked for a different trucking company during your last 70 hours in 8 days. You run that log out to the end of job 1 and then go to the other trucking company and run on his logbook the rest of the time, they must match up. This includes employers for which you made minimum wage flipping burgers etc, thats all onduty time.
