Not a fan of that stuff. Its ok if you're going to put it to work right away but that stuff turns to the consistency of drywall if it sits too long.Al. Roper, tony97905, Slowpoke KW and 10 others Thank this.

I didn't know that. I guess I've never used it on anything that was going to be sitting for a while before getting used.Al. Roper, tony97905, Slowpoke KW and 17 others Thank this.

Yes. It started and idled for an hour after we primed it but turned off with a load on it.
I'm wondering if that system has a lift pump in it.
Not that it matters now because my boss got his period and decided we're gonna let somebody else worry about it.
More out of curiosity.Al. Roper, tony97905, Slowpoke KW and 13 others Thank this. -
Sorry been busy, no known lift pump from the factory on a Series 60 that I have seen. Now body builder could have added one due to tank location. I would bet pinched oring or just air pocket.Al. Roper, tony97905, Slowpoke KW and 13 others Thank this. -
@AModelCat here’s some food for thought......
This Jeep I’m rebuilding was last ran around 1988-89. Until about a year & 1/2 ago it set outside covered up.
When I pulled it apart to replace the front and rear crankshaft seals, I found oil still in the bearings. Wish I would have taken a picture now.....
that being said, if it’s going to be inside covered up you will be ok with just oil.... even 80w-90 smeared on the crank journals would work..... I’ve done it myself.
The engine in my truck (Kenworth) I replaced a plug in the oil galley with a JIC fitting with a cap on it. I have a small hydraulic 12 volt pump that I hook to that JIC fitting and pump oil under pressure to the whole engine before trying to start it......
Something to think about.

Wouldn't be too hard to plumb an oil pump in to pre-lube it since my oil filter is remote mounted on the right frame rail.Al. Roper, tony97905, Slowpoke KW and 14 others Thank this.
