Thanks Kiwi, I will tomorrow, I called today and the phone just kept ringing, never even got a receptionist, maybe I called too late or something. I'm working on getting myself squared away financially, I would really love to go over to W/S and start my trucking career.

Wish you the best JW. Im stuck down here in New Zealand for another couple of months, while the wife swans about CA....she's going to call them tomorrow with a bunch of questions on my behalf.

Any W/S driver (rednek in particular): How long after putting in your app did you hear back from them? Did they call? Email? Just drop a letter in the mail? Drop by the house with a freshly cooked, steaming hot steak and a bottle of wine? Send you a care package/fruit basket with a note?
My school faxed in my app last week, is why I ask. And I'm a tad bit impatient at this point about finding a job that I actually want to work. I'd hate to end up at either one of the two companies that all of our instructors told us to avoid like a lot lizard with a cold sore...
Thx for any help -
When I posted my app online it said 48 hours, but who knows...
-
Operational hours are 7am - 5pm. Actually speaking to someone may take a couple of tries, they stay fairly busy most of the time.
If you're still in school, they may wait a bit to contact you. Always follow up.
I have noted some of the new guys stating it took a couple of weeks. I attribute that to the down economy, and the massive amount of applications they are receiving.
Typically (in good economy) they do respond within 48 hours. If you're still in school, it could a simple matter of them allowing the time to cook off. Do a follow up call...show interest.
Note to all: The size of the classes are limited. So unless there is a pressing need to fill an open slot. You may not hear from them as soon as you would like. Always follow up you app with a call....keep trying, show an interest. -
Thnx again danc. When is too soon to follow up? I don't want to seem like I'm desperate or pushy, but they for some reason have been my first choice since I started school.
-
I am willing to wait for them, I have a fishing trip planned to Mexico with my dad and grandpa in the beginning of October so idealy they'd approve me and schedule me for school in Mid-October. Who knows how they work it though.
-
Depends on whether you're still in school or not.
I followed up the next day. Just a simple checking to make sure you received my application. I never leave voice mail, that's an invitation for a "No responce" day.
It will take time to get hold of an actual person. But don't let that stop you. They don't have a large number of staff in recruiting, like the driver mills do.
My total time from filing an online app, to being handed a set of keys was about a week. But that was a couple of years ago. -
If you are sent straight to someone's voicemail box, should you leave a message and try back in an hour?
-
Your choice...But I find that people who have excemptionly large voice mail boxes.....never check them.
I'm not leaving voice mail....period. And if I did, I certianly wouldn't call back.
