First off. Whom ever you plan to work for? Ask them how long untill you get your ffirst paycheck. For some companies you may not see a first paycheck for over a month.

I think you can get that.

    Flatbedding, tankers, team driving.

Linehaul companies pulling doubles pays well.

I started team driving and I make that usually averaging it all out. You need to sleep in a moving truck and be mature enough to share a small space with another person.

If not then maybe flatbed. I dont know much about TMC though. I parked next to a TMC guy last night though. :D

After a year or so you can pull doubles for freight companies like Old Dominion and R&L Carriers and they make great money.

Chinatown was tagged to your post. I took one of his recommendations and I got paid well my first year. Hes the forum guru on trucking companies.

They ask where you live? Location matters.

Your expenses on the big road will eat you up if you don't watch it. Generally 8 to 12000 dollars for food a year.

You are going to get a reality check in that industry. You need to choose a different location in the USA where the standard of living is same for way less than you require where you are. Here in the south we had a home and a little bit of land on about 35K, if we tried to get that much in Maryland it would have been half a million closer to DC. Thats why we are in the south. There is no point in trying to kick a smaller home on 10 times or more cost.

When the enormity of what was lost culturally in trucking between say the 60's to now will sink in at some point when you stand in a pee filled truckstop lot.

It all depends on you. If your an average driver productivity wise, you probably want net what your asking. If you’re above average those #’s are easily attainable, even at the company you mentioned. By the way, there are many more average steering wheel holders on the road then there are above average. Good luck
