First of all I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! For those on the road, thank you for your hard work. I’ve been looking for insurance and this is the cheapest I’ve found. Months and months of calling and emailing. My current employer does not appreciate my hard work so can’t wait to give them the bird. I’m hoping to start the new year, new owner operator with less than 2 months with a CDL and clean record. I’m wondering if general liability is required?

MUDDA FUDDA $15,531.70 And no umbrella or gen liability??!! Your a better man than me, with 2 months experience. I would be just trying to find an employer who did appreciate me. Or a company to lease onto.

You are no where ready to own your own truck. I may be wrong and you might be the exception but the numbers say you will fail. Don't rush you have only had your CDL for two months! Learn what you don't know first. That will take you a few years to figure out then when your ready go for it.

I’ve already decided I’m going to transition from the office to the hotshot life, just struggling to find insurance for a reasonable amount being from California

In a age where the Trial Lawyer has commercials portraying the Big Truck as the Bad Guy. Drivers in flip flops. A generation that is confused about which bathroom to use. One can see why Insurers will ask a arm and a leg to cover a new entrant’s risk for the first few years. And who could blame them.

Well jump on in, the waters warm. Except where it's cold, but its blazing in other places.

I hate to see threads like this.... People want to just jump in and bay the cart with out knowing what horse they need.

If you have deep pockets would it even matter?

...and that’s why I started this thread. I’m not saying I know everything, everyone was once in my shoe before. I was hoping to get feedback on insurance that’s all.
