I’m into the two thousands already and it’s only Thursday. Different stroke for different folk. Should be about 3300 mile week once I get done on Saturday.

Trying to make North Charleston before 2pm on Saturday...

well I was originally gonna go towards oak grove/kingdom city but I remember about the joint here and I haven’t been here in going on two years. And I’ll get the wonderful iron skillet tomorrow night in Knoxville anyway....

 

I know its not right by the book but I wouldn't be surprised if they told you to run it. If they do you might be able to talk them into letting you borrow the cam bearing tooling to pull em out and re-orient them to sleep easier. Probably wont cause an issue as it does have the groove all the way around it.
I had one couple years ago that spun the front cam bearing. Truck had no jakes for 6 months before they brought it in. Surprisingly the rockers and cam lobes were all good even thought there wasn't enough oil pressure to activate the jakes.

 

I don't know if it was I was questioning the price on the spacer plate or what but they had originally sent me a head that I sent back cause I thought I could redo mine. The one I have now was cheaper on the ticket but the core charge was about a grand higher.....made no sense. They already have my core.

I am interested in the aftermarket heads....I haven't heard any problems with them.

My opinion is they need to fix....not me them. I have my book and a copy from sis from 2002 that says how they are supposed to be clocked. If mine's like this how many have they sent out like this. It shouldn't even be a issue....they need to make it right. Guess we'll find out come morning.

As a side note I've already put a head on this motor because when they overhauled it before I bought and they didn't set the backlash or it come loose and ate the cam bearings.

 

I will say this head is a saw cut head....my last one wasn't.
