Use to watch the original Star Trek in that house before it went off in 69? I barely remember it but can. Then in the early & mid 70’s dads brother and family moved in there. We (my family) know this as the Donahoe Farm, since Mr. Jim Donahoe owned it. My uncle owns it now, bought all 93 acres with the house and the big barn and pond for $36,000 from Jim’s widow. That was over 25 yrs ago.
We had cattle on this farm, as well as ours and the Valandingham Farm..... “ Granvel Valandingham owned the 1st state bank over in town”.
Walked then roads many summers growing up with a hand sickle, dry years we cut honey suckle and red bud sapling limbs and haul in for the goats. The cows eat so much we started cutting scrub trees for then to eat the leaves off of. We didn’t have much, but we fed the animals before we put our legs under the table. When I came in from school I was allowed one sandwich to hold me till chores was done and animal were fed.
My wife gets on to me sometimes thinking I’m to rough with the grandkids.... personally, I’m like @TripleSix ... I think most youth including my own are mostly sidewalk sissies complaining about to much, and working to little.....

@OLDSKOOLERnWV I unloaded in Buckhannon and reloaded in Heaters. Took WV20 out of Buckhannon and just south of Rock Cave I believe I noticed some elk in a high-fenced enclosure....too busy steering to notice any signs that might of told what the place was....any idea? Beautiful drive down through there, great motorcycle roads for sure!
