Amelia, Ohio dissolved; no longer exists.

AMELIA, Ohio (FOX19) - 119 years of history is now gone in Clermont County. Nearly 70 percent of voters decided to dissolve the Village of Amelia. Despite that fact, not everyone in Amelia was smiling Wednesday in the aftermath of the vote to dissolve the village. It’s all people are talking about at The Beauty Shop on Main Street.

Originally it was said to be a lapse insurance which caused the shut down of both the Lincoln Heights fire department and the police department Thursday at 12:00 am. The fire department’s insurance was quickly reinstated however the police department is proving to be quite the uninsurable risk.

It got so bad that the locals drove around the town as not to have to deal with the New Rome cops. The town was shut down in 2004 when the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas ordered the village dissolved. Those who live or have been in Cleveland know of Linndale.
