Years ago, I picked I picked a load of the small Kubota tractors. The real small ones with the loader and backhoe attachments on it. In a dry van. Held seven of them. Guy loading them put one logistics strap across of the backhoe bucket on each one. I asked them if that was it. Said yep and they had never had a problem. I put a bunch of ratchet straps on them. Had 5 drops in Ohio and finalled in Ft Wayne. At every stop I was asked why so many straps. Said some they got didn't have any. Was a great load, payed good and got all the drops off in one day but I refused to haul another one.

Hauling a van I've seen the sides bow out a lil and flex just hauling soda around. They don't seem that strong, I can't imagine they would hold a piece of construction equipment very well in a panic stop.

One emergency stop and they wouldve came through the header board and into ur sleeper. Especially equipment with wheels. I used to run 20 chains and binders and would haul pickup truck rolling chassis piggybacked on eachother and would secure all 4 corners of each one. Could get away with 2 chains on each but all 4 binders, use 1 chain as 2 securment points .Took close to 3 hours from start to finish. Hated that #### as the wheels was on the deck and would roll back n forth side to side ever so slightly on the road and binders would always have slack in them for about the first 300 miles until u could get it real good n tight.. Cant even wrap my head around just closing doors and 1 strap on back and hitting the road. I guess they are all braces together in the front but thats alot of weight being pushed forward in a stop and all the freight has wheels so it moves even easier. To sketchy for me, they couldnt pay me enough money to haul that in a van, unless there was blocking and bracing on each wheel, and even then it would still be tough

I don't know how we survived years ago with no motel features in a truck & having to use phones at the TS.
