I was getting unloaded at a USPS facility a few days ago and the guy with the pallet jack (not fork lift) was going into my truck as they usually do while I was talking to one of the other guys to get my papers signed. I wasnt in the way at all and he randomly stopped and began staring at me and repeating over and over "I didnt see you there" then he paused in silence staring at me with a blank look on his face then said it again and stared at me with a blank look on his face again. He had a look on his face like he had just seen a murder. He was alot bigger than me so I think he was trying to intimidate me while looking at me like im crazy. I didnt do anything wrong at all. What would you have done if someone acted like that in front of you trying to bully/intimidate you. I used to do otr so I know shippers can be the most miserable and mean people on earth but this was just odd.
Why are shippers so miserable? Is it becasue bullying a driver is the only chance in their sad life to have authority over someone who I assume they know makes 5x as much as they do, or do they hate their life and job so much they have to make everyone else miserable?
What would you have said?
How to deal with a mentally ill shipper? What would you do?

Have some fun with it, tell him, "When I checked in the guy in the office told me to stand here, so take it up with him."
Many warehouse workers are miserable people. One time a forklift driver was giving everyone grief. When the forklift drivers went on break, to the break room, one of them parked right behind another forklift. He ran the blades about 3 feet under the other forklift. I eased over to it and tilted the tips of his blades up until they stopped. After the break, he ran out of the breakroom and jumped on his forklift and quickly backed away. When the tilted blades cleared the other forklift, there was an awful, loud, noisy racket that could be heard all over the warehouse. He got a good butt chewing out for doing such a stupid, unsafe thing.Last edited: Dec 8, 2019

Don't make eye contact with him and pretend he doesn't exist. Don't respond to anything he says. People like him go crazy when they're not getting the attention they want.Rideandrepair, dunchues, JForce28 and 4 others Thank this. -
I imagine he was just upset that someone half his age had a career and he just loads trucks for 10$ an hour. Sort of like a fast food manager. Their only chance at life to have authority is to bully another minimum wage worker. When in the real world theyre just bottom of the barrel
Rideandrepair, D.Tibbitt and Chinatown Thank this. -

That doesn’t even include their union benefits and so on and so forth. The point is, driving a forklift isn’t a bad gig at all.Rideandrepair, D.Tibbitt and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
