I am looking to replace the factory radio in the truck as it doesn't have the BT feature and would like to add one that does.. Truck does have the steering wheel controls for radio and BT. Does anyone happen to know the type of harness that will work to keep factory controls intact. or would I have to cut the wires at the harness and wire it up to the new radio..

Here is the pic of the harness. Believe its a type D or a BT-ISO-DIN.

I just bought a harness for my 2016 Cascadia, it doesn't have steering controls but DOES take that same plug, I bought one off Amazon listed for a sprinter van. The steering controls may be hard to keep with an aftermarket radio but the adapter are readily avail for cars, this being a diamler product there may be one that might work

I ordered a harness that others have listed will work, so I will see what happens. I just didn't really want to have to cut the wires, would like to keep as much as factory as possible.

Volkswagen harness is the correct one. No way to retain steering wheel controls. Match colors on the new radio harness with colors on the adapter harness. -
