Dave focuses on the rear gears......
Its a 7 speed auto with a small motor? Needs the digger gears to get out of the way.

A little behind here and offered as info only.
The old CFI; in 1997, was hauling new Nissan forklifts out of the Marengo, IL factory to dealers all over.
Were usually the 3K to 6K capacities, cushion tires. Forks removed, turned around and shoved up under the first one's carriage. loaded off center, left, up against the nose. Angle cut chock blocks against the tires, and a 2 x 4 nailed to the floor to lock. Next one same, except loaded off center to right, and nailed/chocked front and back, etc and etc till full. All arrived sitting in same positions as loaded. Believe Nissan did the actual loading and blocking. Be bad news if rolled. but cruising level, it worked.

How bad are they? Day cabs or sleeper trucks?
So you had a picture of that older side loader. Now we have us some opportunities here. If the trucks are salvageable, that side loader and a bit of time, you could put together a nice rig. Old school style.
