Nobody cares about 96"+ trailer width until you mess up and get a ticket for something else. They might try to find as much as they can to tack on with it.

No need to change trailer length or width. Change routing from fastest to shortest. **warning of you do that, you will be complaining. Why does this stupid thing keep taking me off the big road, and put me on these stupid two lane roads. Just to put me back on big road 20 miles later** Answer is it just saved you 3 miles.

I think I’m probably the rare ones that like the Rand McNally. You just have to configure it and depending on where you’re going change the settings from time to time. I have it set to avoid downtowns of big cities as it tended to cut me thru downtowns instead of taking the bypass. Cutting thru downtown is only faster at very late nights. Depending on where I’m going I’ll change the route preference between prefer freeways to only avoid small roads. Example from Dallas to dodge city I would set it to only avoid small roads and it’ll give me the shorter and faster us highways instead of staying on in the interstate until the last possible moment which usually adds another hour of travel. Honestly I use it more of an aid instead of just blindly following it which most old timers have warned us about.

Does Garmin have the option of showing present location (city name) and mile marker, like the RM does?
