Airpod Pro

I have a pair of the Beats Powerbeats Pros waiting at the house for me... I opted for them in the Truck due mainly to the longer battery life as compared to the AirPods Pro... I don’t believe they have the same ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) as the AirPods but will still fill the ear with the silicone tips to block some noise and muffle the engine... but I normally only use one at a time so not as concerned about blocking out everything.

as to switching to iPhone... personally I love my iPhones and iPads... I jumped into the Apple Ecosystem 10 years ago with a MacBook Pro for my daughter going off to college and never regret doing so... no, Apple is neither prefect nor for everyone... but I personally love my little walled garden.

 

You don't have to get an iPhone, they work with Android phones also

 

While they “work” on Android, it’s basically just a BlueTooth headset at that point... One would benefit more from the investment if it’s matched to an iPhone... or save some money and get another quality Bluetooth headset that isn’t made by Apple.

If it’s just using BlueTooth, I wonder if they will take a hit on battery life... I assume ANC would still work, if it’s totally an internal process, but I wonder how many other things would be limited if it’s not running within it’s designed ecosystem.

Would actually be curious to know.

 

I purchased some Gen II AirPods just the other week ...

They are just regular .... not sure about the "Pro's "

The Pods do just fine with audio books and music

 

Can anyone actually answer OP's question rather than gush about how much they love Iphones/Apple products? Also, I'd like to know how Airpod Pros microphone sound quality compare to a Blue Parrot 550?

 

Can’t compare them myself but I will gush.

I’ve been very happy with both my AirPods and Beats Powerbeats Pro... neither have ANC so that would help but I’m not complaining. They work fine in the truck environment. The Beats hook on the ear so they stay in place better but never had an issue with the regular ones.

if I had to do it over, I would have gone with the AirPods Pro over the beats... I rarely wear the Beats in the rain nor do I need the extra battery life and would like to give ANC a try. That and the case would be much smaller as well. There’s rumors of a couple new sets coming later this year so I’ll be waiting until then to do anything different.

oh, Apple added the AirPods Max now too... full sized over the ear cans... better battery life and better ANC too... but I just can’t see myself wearing an over the ear headset while driving down the road... lol
