LOL! ^.^ I agree about going back to school, and still not having a job roflmao ^.^ Seriously, tho, off the top of my head, I can't think of any that have an accredited re-certifications course....short of actually speaking with your states CDLMVD department....which might not really be such a bad idea!!! If anyone should know, it's the CDMVD DOT :yes2557:
I did the school for work thing with FFE, since the reefer course was an actual requirement in TX due to the ports and authorities. Took 6wks to meet all requirements for that certification, didn't get a certificate tho. I did get a company sponsored "TWIC"??)) ummm, it's the pass where one can pick-up at places like Galvanston (sp), and Houston's ports and borders without having to qualify with all the ports/borders and rails, since registering with the states ports, borders and rails, registered one for the entire US. Don't know if that is still active either! Was told it was mine, and followed me everywhere. Still don't know how much it had cost me either.

I don't know about JCT's school, FFE was more geared for TX, and Werner, I met people with horror stories about thier school. Was bad when adults, were not allowed to leave a chain linked fenced property without having an escort.

:biggrin_25520: As for winter, I could care less where I go, so long as I was driving ^.^ Having my own truck would be nice, at least it's got ac, and is a place to sleep ^.^ I did team with an exbf/housemate. Once you got him rolling, or in his case, "me" rolling ^.^ we drove our rear-ends off. It's not the rooky vs. the experience, if you have a driver that is you behind the wheel, while you are in the sleeper, you will always know, that you are safely going down the road. He drove for 35 yrs, before blowing his cdla recently. Not once, did he worry about me behind the wheel, he did nitpic on somethings, but once I thought about it, just because it looks like I can get the truck between 2 boulders, and swing that 53' trailer over it, doesn't mean I ought to do it :biggrin_255: I still kill myself on backing, only because he has done some cavern deliveries, and I like to practice what he has showed me. Doesn't make me a greenhorn, just really picky about my driving ^.^ As for hygeine....yeah, sometimes driving team can really stink :biggrin_25525:

Give Sage Trucking here in Kingman, AZ a call: Audra might know a certified school, even if it's through a transportation company, that will work with you for the recert.

Otherwise, check with your states CDLA MVD department, those guys and gals keep track of stuff like that.

Sorry this wasn't much help. Good luck, and maybe by the time my post shows, someone else will have an answer for you.

    Little Princess out.

Thanks for the reply, most of the people who have negative input are usually looking for others to blame for their shortcomings, and knowing that I always try to read the story and not just the words...
I guess I'm just getting nervice as my date gets close. When I was a younger man on my own I had no problems with adventure. Now that I have 3 kids.... I always seem to second guess myself.

Ok well I know you're backing up your friend. And I also know when they check you up they also print out a sheet where your company have to sign and return most the time. That sheet shows the violation so if that was the case I'm pretty sure that's y the company let him go. No matter how many good things you do that one mistake will always overweigh all the good. Its true in any career.

I know the nervous feeling! I had second thoughts as to whether I was doing the right thing by leaving a job hauling flat glass. I averaged 3200 miles per week, and was wondering about my decision all the way to the end. BUT...I have not regretted it since I made the move. TOTALLY different company with the attitude of wanting to see you succeed in all that you do. If you fail, they fail. It doesn't benifit them to bring you there and put you through orientation and not want you to make it. I had the same misgivings as you do, but with the encouragment from Alan and LMB, I took the plunge! Just be a team player, and you will do fine. Don't blame someone else for your mistakes, if you make one, and don't muddy the waters. If I do somethiong wrong, I will take the blame, say I'm sorry and try an do better next time. Hmmmmm...have I grown up?!

Cali doesnt give you a paper to have the company to sign unless you get a inspection. He did not get a inspection he just got a citation for his log not being current and a seat belt ticket.
Have you ever even been pulled over in cali?
I live out there and have exp. with the chp and friends that are dot.

Did your friend have the company pay the ticket for him? Also yes I've been pulled over in cali b4 and they gave me the sheet saying this is ur citation and another one that said you need your company to sign. Maybe its just the officer I had at the time seeming how you say they don't do level 1

not exactly sure what you mean on the recert. unless that something new. there was no certification last time i drove. i think it's bull that just cuz i haven't been OTR for awhile. i mean. you all's trucks don't drive any different then the one's i've been driving. and i pull much more weight then the standard 80,000 lbs.

didn't have a problem with stinky teams. we pretty much showered every 3rd day. the problem was there attitudes. one second they were your buddies and the next second they were your worst nightmare. don't know if it has to do with lack of sex on the road or what. but there personalities were like night and day. that was the sole reason i got off the road to begin with.
