Are trainers able to have regional or dedicated routes? Or are they exclusively otr?

    FlaSwampRat Thanks this.

Depends on the company. Some allow it, some dont.

Regional probably, Dedicated is highly questionable from company to company.

In our case it depends on the account. But mostly no on dedicated.

What company do you work for or are interested in working for? That would help us answer that question.

I train in a daycab and I am semi-local. It really depends on company policy.

It all depends on the trucking company and how they run their truck. OTR companies run OTR trainers. Regional companies run regional trainers. The hard part is many companies run the trainer trucks as team driver and that kinda suck. Because they run the the truck 24/7. You don't really get much training

I trained with local drivers for the first few weeks, a regional driver for a week, then finished with an OTR driver.

Trainers go it all. Local, regional, 48 and 11 States. At most Driver mills you can be a trainer in as little as 6 months. That should make you sleep better when the trainer drives.
Don't believe the stories, they all drove without a license on someones farm since they were 3 years old. It's BS.

    FerrissWheel Thanks this.
