Until you sit on some mountain in West Virginia for a day for.a crane lift. Which they can't do because they seen lightning 20 miles away. And to get to that job site from the closest legitimate highway. It's 12 miles of West Virginia back roads that takes an hour and a half.

 

Great, blew a water pump in Nashville. Good I have a company escort with me to chauffeur me around.

 

Isn't that truck fairly new?

 

It's a glider kit. Which brings up one of my largest gripes about this truck. If they are pulling a used Cat from one truck and dropping it in another. Why not rebuild it? It had 450k miles on a rebuild when that happened. Its a tough call but if I was paying the bills I would of done it. I don't pay the bills so it is what it is.

 

Was it built in house?

 

Nah. I wish. Sometimes our mechanics are slow but they do great work.

 

Well the glider i drove was rebuilt once had all the injectors replaced on 4 different shop visits. Turbo blew charge air cooler had a crack. 2 water pumps and 2 rear main seals. All before 250k miles

Been doing heavy haul for quite a while. Got my 1st major injury. Booming down a scraper with ratcheting boomers, the slack in the chain or where it was hooked to snapped just enough to cause the boomer to come loose quickly. You know the rest. Tore a tendon or ligament in my forearm. See work comp dr today. 1st time i feel old doing this job.
