I was leased onto a power only company out of griffith IN when I was rearended by a four wheeler at an Il. tollbooth, I was stopped and handing out my money when it happend(guy was on cell phone and thought we were at an I-pass booth) anyway I left them about one month later and went to a competitor because they paid better and when they ran my D.A.C. the "accident" had just been amended to "striking vehicle while moving" I did not have a problem getting hired on there or anywhere since but I tried to get it fixed and D.A.C. told me it could only be removed by the company that reported it. That company gave me the run around (though I had worked there three years and new everybody in the office on a first name basis) and acted like they did not know how it happend, after about 2 weeks of bugging them they quit taking my calls, so it is still on there. I liked that company and had a good experience with them but was very surprised when they did that to me

A critical and unmovable statement was made in the original post; "These companies can afford to be picky". That my friend is the 500 lb. elephant in the room. It boils down to this, you are screwed. For the forseeable future, I would look for something else to do until your partners "mistake" falls off of the record or until companies start taking on just anybody again. Good luck. (You're gonna need it)

file a 'arguement' or contest the 'fact' directly to dac....they in turn have to send your 'contestment' to your old company, the company has 30 days to varify their original info. was correct....or it all comes off.
Or go thru the dac agency sponsering this site, as they deal with this horse #### daily.

Okay here is what you do. Go to the court house and get proof that the crime has been exsponged. Then ( Make sure it is on the letter head of the court house) Then call USIS. And they will give you an addresse to send this to. Once they get it they will correct thier error. See they get the reports frm the court house. But some states don't update. Because their systems are old or they are so backed up. But you can take care of it your self that way. Even if it was dismissed. Companies shouldn't be holding that against you or your husband. Try CRST, I know they aren't the best.. But they are good for what you need theme for... 6mos to 1 year. Ride out the recession and then go and look for a better company...

You might want to give the folks (sponsor/advertiser) listed at the top of the first page of this website a call/click ... www.DACfix.com

My guess is you'll have better luck with them than if you try doing it yourself. Might cost you some $, but heck, if they get it fixed the 1st time, it would be worth it.

    Baack and Faber Thank this.

I don't know if they can help with a crimenal record, one of three things I have on my DAC is a ticket from '01 for driving a '53 dry van in Oregon without a "53 permit, It was the first time I drove anything bigger then a '48 flat up there and was told by the company I was leased on to at the time I did not need a special permit(I asked) come to find out, they consider that a misdemeaner, its been on my dac since and was told that I could not get it removed because I pled guilty on the traffic ticket, its no big deal, never had a problem with that when it came to signing on with anybody.

If he didn't get convicted it shouldn't be on there anyway...if he pleaded it down and pleaded guilty to something else thats different. I would hire a lawyer or the sponsor on top of page and get it removed.

Dacfix is useful if if you want to waste 150 bucks and 3 months for something you can do yourself in less time. However, if its something minor, you have the money and the time to wait, and no interest in doing it yourself, well, then there's dacfix.
