I'd rather see a "Backed up 20,000 times with no accidents" sticker.
Going forward is easy.
If you are aware of what's going on around you there's little chance of a mishap.
Backing up, delivering in tight quarters, and other maneuvers without WOOPS happening is where the Pros nod their heads to one another.

How about a sticker that says..."Always on time, easy on the equipment, gets along with everybody, and doesn't whine".
We have some drivers like that. I wish I could clone them.gentleroger, buddyd157, tarmadilo and 3 others Thank this. -
I wanted a sticker on the back of my truck, "I'm a family man, and my family is waiting for me to come home".

There was a time back with my father's generation when you could see these guys. Almost always in a uniform and had those safe trucking miles pins on either their shirt or hat. You could take a walk in the parking and see their names printed much as fighter pilots had theirs. I don't know really how many miles my father had. I'm sure it was over 2 million. I don't ever remember my father ever talking about his miles or have it printed on his trucks. One thing my father could not stand was a loudmouth, blowhard, a liar or someone that had little or no experience acting like they were God's gift to trucking, especially a none driver in the terminal. My opinion on this is kinda simple. There are those that do their jobs as @REO6205 stated, and those that sit and regale people with how much of a hotshot they are. When I pass and am buried I hope these words are spoken about me. He safety delivered, on time every time and done so in a courteously way. I have an idea what my total miles are, don't care all that much about it. I will leave that to all the supertruckers in this business!
Snailexpress Thanks this. -

The one and only union job I had, out of dozens, had a ceremony every winter around this time as a combination X-mas party/ driver awards schpiel. If you went the entire year without a mishap, you got a bonus and a pin for your jacket lapel, said "safe driver". Like a 4 star general, some of these guys had 10 pins on their jacket, and I suppose, there was an element of pride with that. Hmm, I wonder what ever happened to the one pin I got before quitting? Have to check the junk drawer,,
about what it's worth today.

Million mile+ stickers, belt bulkels and pins at OTR companies only mean one thing. Jody really thanks you for the time you've allowed him to party and enjoy the big screen and such while you were gone!!!
